It’s finally happening! We want to invite you to an amazing bring your own drinks and snacks event were we’ll celebrate the grand opening of The Sphere Metagallery and Karmic Engine.
It will open, we will show and tell and you will save the date!
“The paintings looked as though they were photographed in 4D or 5D. They created not just one world, but many. So many worlds. When there were thousands of people standing in front of the screens, they created their own worlds and shared their own worlds with each other, and the universe itself was there for all of them to see.”, GPT-NeoX
The Sphere's Metagallery Opens March 1st!
In twelve days, we will open the portals of the Sphere’s Metagallery. The whole Sphere team including the artists will be present to introduce the project and the exhibited artworks.
The artworks exhibited in the Metagallery are not simply objects to be contemplated. They are NFT-augmented seeds pointing toward an open-ended future, initial fragments to be taken up by other artists for transformative iterations.
The Metagallery results from four years of research of "The Sphere" - a collective of artists and experts at the intersection of crypto and circus, generously supported by Creative Europe.
The Metagallery grand opening program will happen 3 pm - 5 pm CET on March 1! (The link will be revealed on https://thesphere.as/ March 1.)
Don’t miss out on our Karmic Engine discord channel:
Our awesome Metagallery would be nothing if it was not for our beloved Karmic Engine. From our Discord:
”There are only weeks left for the launch of our radical experiment: The Karmic Engine. As the development is going full speed, we wanted to create a public touchpoint, so that we can answer any open questions regarding the mechanism, its objectives and functionalities. The curve labs team will be supporting this channel and the Q&As that are harvested here will be parsed into a FAQ document which will be published prior to launching the campaign.” , CurveLabs on #karmic_engine

We had a great session with artist Pedro Victor Brandao last week. He guided the participants through the world of NFT’s and presented some of his amazing projects. The presentation and the discussion after really clarified some aspects of The Sphere in a pretty neat way. Watch the Video
A Tip! (Not sponsored just sweeeeet!)
For Spike #70, we’re getting technical. Come wade with us into the OpenSea: the Web3 issue is all about the blockchain, aka the latest digital innovation that promises to either wreck or revive the art world (and world-world), depending on who you ask. Our deep-dive into this wild new frontier features everything from debates on NFT aesthetics to the feminist case for crypto; generative art as anticapitalist; scepticism at digital currency’s volatility; a polemic for the blockchain as ecological salvation; and a glimpse into Web3’s status behind the Great Firewall.
Decentralised, or degenerate? Genuinely liberating for creators, or just another PR stunt pulled off by capital? Any way you slice it, crypto is taking us by storm, and we’d be mistaken to look away as new possibilities and protocols crystallise. And if you’re feeling hesitant, fear not: we’ve included a glossary walking you through all the relevant lingo, illustrated by an original selection of fresh-pressed memes.
With Holly Herndon, Rhea Myers, Charles Broskoski, Constant Dullaart, Jerry Gogosian, Ruth Catlow, María Paula Fernández, Wassim Z.
