Here is all you need to know before investing in The Sphere's Evolutive NFTs

A Collector’s Journey

The Evolutive NFTs were designed by the wonderful @Anya36908766 and @dmt1m. Soon, they will go on a karmic journey, carrying the afterlife of live performances on the blockchain through the Karmic Engine, made by @curvelabs

These NFTs are said to be evolutive because they unfold visually. They function as a digital testimony of the transformation of the SEED performances as they undergo creative collaborations with new generations of artists.

Right now, you see them in phase 1.

After The Sphere Quadratic Megavote (end of April 30th, more info below), all of them will unfold into phase 2. Then, later in Fall 2022, after they went through the final stage of the Karmic funding ritual, some will blossom into phase 3.

When you invest in one of the seed performances through @viamirror, you get $SEED tokens in proportion to your donation. At the end of the funding campaign (May 15th), you are invited to convert these tokens into $KARMIC tokens.

This conversion happens on the Karmic Engine dApp. $KARMIC tokens are NFTs in their own right (ERC-1155). They are unique governance tokens harboring the evolutive visuals discussed above. Some aspects of this ritual were described on a previous thread by @CurveLabs:

By investing in a Sphere’s NFT, you get a share of a digital artwork that works as a digital memory (or marker of provenance) in a collective creative process. You become part of an emergent and groundbreaking – or rather, terraforming – Live Art Network Derivative (LAND).

Still: how do I exit?

At the end of the incubation phase, once the governance ritual is accomplished and the funding is distributed to incoming artists, The Karmic Funding Campaign closes by summoning the speculative forces of the outside through a NFT fractionalization event on @spectrexyz

As $KARMIC holders, you are early stakeholders in the Sphere Live Art Derivative Network. For that reason, you will automatically be granted a fair & generous share of the fractionalized NFTs (Spectre allows for the creation of AMM liquidity pool + NFT buyout options)

The funded IRL performances could become seeds for future derivative works. NFTs carry the lineage forward.

As collectors, you enable feed-forward creative loops.

And then, who knows? Your NFT might catalyze a Degen or Regen circus gathering in a city near you👽

Breakdown time

First, you must choose which seed performance(s) you want to finance on https://thesphere.mirror.xyz. You will then get $SEED tokens generated by Mirror’s smart contract. Hodl them. They are your receipt. Your initial proof of participation. You are already collecting live art.

If you invest before April 30th 2022, you can even join The Sphere Megavote. Make sure you have casted your quadratic vote in time! After the vote, your evolutive NFT will mutate for the first time.

Then, once the Sphere funding campaign is over (May 15th 2022), you are invited to convert your $SEED tokens into $KARMIC tokens on the Karmic Engine Dapp here: https://app.thesphere.as/

From May 16th until September 2022, the Incubation Phase begins. You can follow the crafting of proposals for future derivative iterations from incoming artists on our Discord channel: https://discord.com/invite/AEEBKkBvC4.

Once the Incubation Phase is over, The Megavote community + token holders will participate in a second quadratic voting ritual to decide which derivative proposals should be enacted. Once the vote is in, the evolutive NFTs will reach their final stage (for now).

Remember: this is only the beginning of your NFT’s value journey! In order to close this initial karmic funding cycle, we plan a collective fractal issuance event that will attract more forces from the outside and expand the powers of the Sphere’s Digital Soul (or have it devoured in the process).

The funding campaign has been going on since March 1st. It will end on May 15th. By that date the collectors may find themselves in two situations:

The seed that they funded passed the threshold.
The seed that they funded did not pass the threshold.

In situation 1), the funders will move to the Karmic Engine Dapp where they can convert their initial $SEED tokens into ERC-1155 $KARMIC tokens. This process is simple and straightforward – a matter of a few clicks (and spending a bit on gas fees in the process).

In situation 2), the funders have two possibilities. They can simply exit the process and get their funding back. Alternatively, they can redirect their funds towards the Sphere’s common pool. They will automatically get $KARMIC tokens in the performances that made the cut
