Follow the residency experiences.

The Sphere Newsletter will be released every other week where we will present to you videos from the works in progress of our seed artists.

We have Room 100 and Andrea Salustri, who have both done their residency at Berlin Circus Festival and we are also overjoyed about our very first lineages forming through Marija Baranauskaite and Utka Gavuzzo re-making Andrea Salustri's Materia, as well as Cecile Manfrini re-making C8H11N02, originally created by Room 100!

The 16th edition of the Rencontre des Jonglages festival highlighted The Sphere project by presenting Andrea Salutri's piece Materia, and Utka Gavuzzo's work in progress Materia 3.0 Aerogami, an iteration of the original creation. A discussion with the two artists, Erik Bordeleau, Cyrille Roussial and Vincent Berhault was also organised on "Deriving a circus work: the case of MATERIA", around the various issues raised by the experimental process proposed by The Sphere:

What does iteration and
                       derivation of a juggling work
                                                     involve?
The modalities of reworking repertoire
               in the field of

juggling
         creations

and more broadly in the circus.

A publication of the Revue Jonglages will look back on this discussion.

Do not miss Materia this summer!

ConTempo is the largest international performing arts festival in central Lithuania which attracts spectators from all over Lithuania and beyond. The program of the international performing arts festival ConTempo is already out and Materia is the closing performance of the festival.

Here is the link: https://contempofestival.lt/en/event/materia/

The exhibition by artist Andrea Salustri will be also be open during the days of the performance presentation (August 5-6th,12-17hrs).

It's a great chance for anyone interested in The Sphere to visit Kaunas and see Andrea's work!

Materia will also be presented at Berlin Circus Festival the 18th and 19th of August. Andrea Salustri will also present his exhibition there and finally if all goes well, Marija Baranauskaite will present her short movie just after Materia 1.0.

This will be connecting both the derivative and the original live on the spot.

Damn! We’re really looking forward to that possibility!

That is all for now. Do not hesitate to share this with your friends, family, colleagues, followers, idols and people (and beyond) you wish you dared to contact and now finally have a reason to do so.
